Greece offers new convenience for Turks in Schengen visas

Kosmos Visa Services, which handles Greece's Schengen visa procedures in Türkiye, announced that new facilities have been introduced for Turkish citizens in Schengen visa applications.

The European Union implemented a "cascade visa system" that will simplify Schengen visa applications for Turkish citizens as of July 15, 2025. The new system covers all Turkish citizens residing in Türkiye and applying for a short-term Schengen visa from Türkiye; truck drivers are exempt. Applicants must have used their previous Schengen visas in accordance with the regulations and be reliable travelers.

The benefits brought by this regulation are as follows:

• A 1-year, multiple-entry Schengen visa may be granted to Turkish citizens who have obtained two Schengen visas in the last three years and used them correctly.

• The first visa will be issued in accordance with the planned travel duration (single or multiple entries). The second visa can be a multiple-entry visa valid for 90 days within six months.

• People who use a one-year visa correctly can then apply for a 3-year and 5-year multiple entry visa, respectively, if their passport validity period is sufficient.

It was stated that this decision was taken within the framework of migration management and readmission cooperation between the EU and Türkiye.
