First day regulations for schools in Istanbul! Class hours have changed

The 2025-2026 academic year begins on Monday, September 8th.

The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that schools will open at 10:00 a.m. on September 8, the first Monday of the academic year, to prevent traffic congestion.

In a written statement from the Istanbul Governorship, it was stated, "In order to prevent possible disruptions in traffic due to the determination of school and bus routes on the first day of education, it has been decided that education will be held between 10:00 and 15:00 in public and private primary, secondary and high schools in our city on Monday, September 8."
