New York Post announces: These foods are as harmful as tobacco

Every food you consume should be natural and healthy. However, sometimes some foods found on every table and enjoyed with pleasure can cause serious health problems. The New York Post has revealed the world's unhealthiest foods.

THE MOST HARMFUL FOODS FOR HEALTH

PROCESSED MEAT While processed meats like breakfast sausage, bacon, and smoked turkey have been described as terrible for your health, this food category is unhealthy as a whole. Therefore, it deserves its own section. Hot dogs, deli meats, packaged sausage, and more are among the foods that should be avoided whenever possible, if not eliminated from your diet entirely. The World Health Organization has classified processed meats as Group 1 carcinogens, meaning they are known to cause cancer. "Processed meats contain chemicals not found in fresh meat," Lago says.

SAUSAGE

According to a study titled “Unprocessed Red and Processed Meats and the Risk of Coronary Artery Disease” [published in Current Atherosclerosis Reports], available evidence suggests that processed meat consumption may impact the incidence of coronary artery disease.

Refined Carbohydrates

Refined carbs include white bread, white rice and pasta, pastries, pizza, and more. “Refined grain products are known to promote inflammation in our bodies, are often higher in sugar, and are also associated with obesity,” Lago said.

HYDROGENATED OILS

This category of fat is found in many packaged foods and fast food items. Nutritionist Paul says, “Hydrogenated oils have been conclusively shown to increase mortality rates in population studies.

“It is important for consumers to read the ingredient labels on packaged food products because many popular brands of consumer products, such as peanut butter, contain hydrogenated oils,” he said, emphasizing that these oils should be avoided.

HARMFUL CONDITIONS OF UNHEALTHY NUTRITION

CAUSES HEART DISEASE: An unhealthy diet can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. A lack of consumption of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains high in fat, cholesterol, and sugar can contribute to the development of high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. This also increases the risk of heart attack and stroke.

It causes weight gain

Unhealthy foods are stored as fat in the body. Increased fat intake also increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. It causes a sudden increase in blood sugar levels.

Increased risk of depression

When we don't eat healthy, it negatively impacts our brain function and blood sugar levels. Naturally, this also affects our mood. Research shows that people who eat a traditional diet rich in whole grains, meat, fish, fruits, and vegetables are happier than those who consume sugar and processed foods.

Inhibits Brain Development

Consuming foods high in fat and sugar suppresses brain peptides that support memory and learning. Research shows that following a high-fat, high-salt, and high-calorie diet for up to a week leads to poor performance on cognitive tests.
