CHP lost its majority in Bayrampaşa Municipality

The CHP lost its majority in the Bayrampaşa Municipal Council due to a series of resignations.
Following the resignation of Bayrampaşa council member Murat Salman yesterday (Monday, September 15), another CHP council member resigned from his party.
According to Sözcü TV, İbrahim Soytürk also left the CHP.
The news was not denied by Soytürk.
On the other hand, the official website of the Bayrampaşa Municipality lists both Murat Salman and İbrahim Soytürk as CHP council members.
Resignations from the party began last weekAli Karahasanoğlu and Sami Teker resigned from the CHP last week.
In a statement, the party stated that the two council members had been behaving inconsistently with party principles for a long time and that disciplinary proceedings had been initiated against them.
48 people were taken into custodyOn Saturday, September 13, teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Branch detained 48 people, including Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu, Deputy Mayors Atilla Özen, Hakan Baş, Lütfi Kadıoğulları, Gündüz Kalkan, and Legal Affairs Manager Bilgehan Yağcı, in a simultaneous operation.
