The Queen Silvia Nursing Award ceremony took place at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Among the recipients was Polish nurse Aleksandra Kobza, a nurse with 15 years of experience, recognized for creating an app that supports the work of medical professionals and caregivers.
The Queen Silvia Nursing Award is one of the most important international honors for healthcare professionals. This year's award in Stockholm honored Polish nurse Aleksandra Kobza. The Polish winner received the award for creating a prototype application that helps nurses and caregivers communicate with patients and manage medical data.
The goal was to characterize the patient holistically, both from the medical perspective, but also to address the emotional aspect so that he or she would have psychological support, Kobza emphasized in an interview with the Polish Press Agency.
When asked about the purpose of the financial reward, Aleksandra Kobza revealed that she has already invested the funds in postgraduate studies in practical psychology . This is the next step in her professional development, which will allow her to support patients even more effectively, both medically and emotionally.
During the ceremony, Queen Silvia of Sweden drew attention to the importance of the work of nurses in her speech.
Let's ensure that those who care for others receive the recognition and respect they so richly deserve," she urged. Her words were met with thunderous applause from the ceremony attendees.
After the official part of the ceremony, expert panels were held on modern technologies, artificial intelligence in healthcare and existential health.
I am glad that psychological issues were strongly discussed in the discussion, Kobza noted, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach to the patient.
The Queen Silvia Nursing Award was presented for the eleventh time worldwide and the ninth time in Poland. In the last edition of the competition , 180 nurses, male nurses, and nursing students competed in Poland.
