Zapopan medical personnel recognized
Like every October 23rd, In Mexico, Doctors' Day is commemorated, and the Zapopan city council presented recognitions and the "Dr. Isaac Medina Beruben" medal to health workers in the municipality.
Seven health workers were selected by Zapopan's medical units to receive this recognition:
- Dr. José Jesús Velázquez Trujillo (Villas de Guadalupe)
- Dr. Cynthia Álvarez Vidal (North)
- Dr. Juan José Zabalgoitia Ibarra (Santa Lucía)
- Dr. Óscar Arturo Mendoza Navarro (Girl Eva)
- Dr. Verónica Isabel Márquez López (Federalism)
- Dr. Patricio Javier Nava de la Cruz (South)
- Dr. Jesús Ignacio Martínez Tapia (Hospitalito)
Miguel Ricardo Ochoa , general director of OPD Salud Zapopan, said that Dr. Isaac Medina Beruben was the first director of the Zapopan General Hospital, more than 80 years ago. Ochoa also noted that this recognition of the medical staff is due to their outstanding service.
"Reaffirm that spirit of service, that vocation of dedication and commitment, where we sometimes give beyond our time and schedule, neglecting our family."
The Zapopan Health Services OPD has a staff of 226 specialist physicians, 114 general physicians, and 11 teaching physicians.
The municipality highlighted that, during 2024, the Hospitalito de Zapopan provided more than one million medical services, including births, surgeries, emergencies, laboratory tests, and general medical procedures.
