Nancy. The yellow march for suicide prevention brought together 850 people this Sunday morning.

9,000 suicides, 200,000 attempts. The figures are staggering: suicide continues to claim too many victims in silence in France. To raise awareness about suicide prevention, the CPN (Nancy Psychotherapy Center) and the CRPS (Suicide Prevention Resource Center) Grand Est have decided to organize their second yellow march this Sunday morning at La Pépinière.
After bringing together 600 people last year, the event attracted even more people this year, with nearly 850 registered for the walk, which started at the auditorium. "We see with campaigns like this that prevention works," said Professor Fabienne Ligier, medical coordinator of the Grand Est Regional Suicide Prevention Center. "The general public needs to be made aware of the issue because we can all identify people who are suffering and intervene..."
Through various stands set up along the 2.8-kilometer route, participants were able to discover warning signs, local associations, and existing systems, including 31 14, the national suicide prevention number, which appeared in large letters on the yellow t-shirts distributed.
"Even if we don't have loved ones who are affected, it's an important cause," noted Elisa and Lila, two students from Seichamps and Pulnoy, before leaving. "It's good to raise awareness about it."
It is also with this in mind that the Arc Heré will be illuminated in yellow this Sunday. An additional way to highlight suicide prevention.
