Apple cider vinegar has become popular in recent years as a natural remedy with multiple benefits, from promoting weight loss to improving digestion and controlling blood sugar levels. 1.- Digestive problems

One of the most common uses of apple cider vinegar is as a digestive aid, but in some people, it can have the opposite effect. Consuming it can cause discomfort such as:

  • Feeling bloated
  • Heartburn or acidity

This happens because its acidity can irritate the stomach lining, especially in people with gastritis, reflux, or ulcers.

2.- Damage to tooth enamel

The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar is strong and can erode tooth enamel over time if consumed undiluted or frequently. This dental erosion increases sensitivity and raises the risk of cavities. To reduce this effect, it is recommended to dilute the vinegar in water and avoid brushing your teeth immediately after taking it.

Some studies have suggested that prolonged consumption of apple cider vinegar can affect blood potassium levels, causing hypokalemia (low potassium). This condition can cause muscle weakness, fatigue, cramps, and even heart problems in severe cases.
