Another tick case
A woman named SK, a seasonal agricultural worker in Muş, contracted Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) after failing to notice a tick attached to her back. Her family removed the tick with their bare hands and she was later admitted to Muş State Hospital with complaints of fever, headache, and fatigue.
SK, who was discharged from the hospital after four days of treatment, temporarily stayed in Yeroluk Village, where Provincial Health Directorate teams launched a contact tracing campaign. Health teams informed the villagers about CCHF and provided training on what to do in case of contact with ticks.
Experts emphasized that the most important point in tick cases is not to touch the tick with bare hands, and warned that caution should be exercised, especially in rural areas.
