The Ministry of Health's bulletin expands the maximum alert map
Red-flagged weekend starting today for Italy where the early summer brings a scorching climate with a weather picture - from Milan to Rome, from Naples to Palermo - with high temperatures and mugginess. Alert level 3, the maximum one that indicates "emergency conditions with possible negative effects on the health of healthy and active people and not only on the subgroups at risk", affects 6 cities today, Saturday 14 June, and tomorrow it will be worse with red alert in 11 cities .
What are the hottest cities?According to the forecasts of the heat wave bulletin of the Ministry of Health, which monitors 27 provincial capitals daily with 24, 48 and 72-hour forecasts, the red dots of Bolzano, Campobasso and Perugia will be joined today by those of Frosinone, Rieti and Rome, and tomorrow also those of Bologna, Brescia, Florence, Latina and Turin.
The bulletin grid also includes many yellow (level 1, pre-alert) and orange (level 2, with health risks for the most vulnerable) dots.
In green (level 0) very few cities: 8 today (Ancona, Bari, Cagliari, Catania, Genoa, Palermo, Pescara and Venice) and just 3 tomorrow (Bari, Catania and Genoa). In all the other capitals the heat will hit harder.
