Despite very uncertain weather, 5,500 people, wearing pink T-shirts, gave their breath and energy to the 20th edition of the Odysséa race on Sunday, June 15. The 10-kilometer competitors preceded the families, who came in large numbers for the parent-child course. After a few minutes of warm-up, the participants set off at the Parc de la Colombière in Dijon, cheered on by the spectators. Many people also showed up at the “Pouet-Pouet” stand (read elsewhere) . Nathalie Koenders, mayor of Dijon, was able to present a check for €52,000 to support the fight against breast cancer.

Dijon - The “Pouet-Pouet” workshop: uncomplicated breast cancer prevention

Amidst the many stalls surrounding the Odysséa charity run on Sunday, June 15, at the Parc de la Colombière in Dijon, the "Pouet-Pouet" workshop was packed. A long-time partner, Harmonie Mutuelle offered a fun approach, including pat-downs, devised by the Jeune & Rose* association .

Young Amandine touches and searches for a hard shape in the nipple, understanding the importance of this act, with simple gestures, alongside her mother. "We are here for the first time to learn self-examination gestures. On these silicone female busts used by the medical school, I look for cysts that are detectable by touch and abnormalities visible to the eye thanks to the trainer. The goal is to raise awareness as early as possible about a check-up routine, because the sooner we detect, the sooner we can alert a healthcare professional, and thus avoid more serious care."

* Created in 2017, the Jeune & Rose association brings together women aged 20 to 40 affected by breast cancer. Its focus is threefold: supporting patients, raising awareness among young people and those who are excluded from care, and alerting healthcare professionals.
