Breaking the taboos surrounding cancer, encouraging early detection, and supporting those affected by the disease: the objective of the Sport & Cancer Day organized next Saturday, September 20 in Six-Fours-les-Plages goes far beyond a simple information meeting or friendly activities. It embodies a collective ambition: "to unite all the medical, paramedical, community, and civic forces of the department to better support people facing cancer, whatever it may be."
The program for the event, which will take place in the La Frégate amphitheater – with direct access to the sea for water sports – will feature unique sporting challenges involving patients and caregivers, enabling each healthcare establishment in the region to be represented.
"A powerful symbol to share the effort, strengthen ties and remind people that the fight against cancer is a collective battle," said Dr. Olivier Alenda, president of the UroPaca congress, organizer of this event supported by the Toulon Provence Méditerranée Metropolis and the city of Six-Fours.
The day will also feature a musical performance centered around song and hope, a humorous play delicately and derisively addressing prostate cancer, conferences and discussions with specialists, a solidarity walk, games, stands and workshops – particularly on nutrition, with the presence of a food truck.
