The first patented , highly effective therapeutic method aimed at eliminating erectile dysfunction through a holistic approach, working on the body, mind, and relationship. This is how its creator, sexologist and psychologist Nayara Malnero , defines it.
"It combines physical, non-medical tools with psychological, sexological, and therapeutic tools applicable to the context of a couple's relationship, even if they have a stable partner," the creator tells this newspaper. "In traditional therapy, the collaboration of a stable partner is generally necessary, and the reality is that many men need help and don't have that stable partner , so this is very innovative," she adds.
In Spain, one in five adult men suffers from erectile dysfunction , according to the latest study, published in 2018 by the Association for Research on Sexual Dysfunctions in Primary Care (AISD-AP) and the multidisciplinary study Epidemiology of Male Erectile Dysfunction (EDEM). According to the document, conducted with 3,600 men across Spain, 42.68% of men seek primary care consultations for erectile dysfunction of varying degrees.
Although the therapy, also known as PAE, was patented in 2023, it has been implemented on its digital platform since 2020. In fact, the online resources and its 12-week duration are other features: "We have a platform where all the content is hosted, sequenced so that the boys, week by week, face challenges and are responsible for their process . In parallel, we accompany them with a therapist who has sessions with them, personalizing the experience and ensuring success, which is the most important thing: that everyone improves their performance and erections."

Malnero emphasizes that she and her team have worked with more than 300 men and that the patent is also available for cases of premature ejaculation . "All of them have improved. In some cases, for example, when a man comes in with a significant physical problem , such as prostate surgery or a penile injury, we use the same format to help him, but without the platform ," she explains.
Another case he describes is that of a man who suffers from erectile dysfunction , but who has been widowed for six months: "In this case , he needs a little more emotional support , and we personalize the treatment even more." " The platform's content is stored permanently so they can access it for life," he continues.
Results in 3 months?Regarding the duration, Malnero confesses that the programming "is designed so that men can have those results in 3 months , although it is true that not all of them keep up that pace." " We all have complicated lives and there are times when things go a little slower than we would like. There are also guys who finish earlier, but it's true that we adapt to their needs and, if it takes them longer, it's not a problem, the therapist is with them. She is always attentive so that they don't rest on their laurels, but without pressure . In addition, the program does not close after 12 weeks , the content of the platform remains hosted forever so they can have it for life and the therapist is available to answer questions by email," she assures.
The program costs 1,297 euros . "We offer payment options. We want it to be very affordable for everyone and not have sky-high prices with likely ineffective methodologies , like most clinics. Unfortunately, this is what usually happens: they are very expensive treatments that cause a lot of frustration because they are ineffective and focused on that very physical level, which is not what they really need," he says.

When asked about the importance of treating these problems in person rather than online, the expert comments: "This question is very common, and the reality is that today we see how most online therapies are equally effective. In sex therapy, we've been working with online therapy for many years, and it's equally effective. This allows us to work in four languages : Spanish, Catalan, English, and German, with patients from all over the world, adapting our schedules."
"I believe that sensitivity doesn't depend on the means we use, but rather on how we treat people, and this is something that sets us apart . In any case, if the patient wants to come to Asturias, we provide in-person care in Gijón ," he notes.
For his part, Josep Torremadé Barreda , coordinator of the andrology group at the Spanish Urology Association , clarifies that erectile dysfunction can have two causes, which will be determined by the treating physician. First, he mentions psychogenic problems : "These primarily occur in young men due to anticipatory anxiety, fear of failure , or a previous bad experience."
He then explains organic erection problems : "They're the ones we urologists see most. The problem is in the penis, and there are many causes: diabetes, aging, hypertension, or prostate surgery." "Selling people that you're going to treat erection problems with your foolproof method in 12 weeks is impossible ; unfortunately, some of them can only be resolved with a prosthesis. You have to be very careful with these types of miraculous therapies , because they sometimes generate very high expectations that aren't met, leading to a lot of frustration," he says.

"In sexology, the therapy would be cognitive behavioral, sometimes supported by drugs . In urology, we do linkage treatments and start with lifestyle changes and using Viagra and its derivatives . If this doesn't work, we would move on to injectable medications in the penis, and the last resort would be prostheses," he continues.
However, Malnero insists that "80% of the time," erectile dysfunction has a psychological origin. "If the cause is physical, the ideal is to follow the treatment prescribed by the doctor and receive therapeutic support. But it is true that PAE is designed for when this physical problem does not exist, so that men can progress much more quickly with physical, but not medical , tools, for example, working on the pelvic floor," he acknowledges.
"When a child needs help and there's a physical cause, what we do is apply classic sessions , but we decided that he's not suitable for the program, since we can't guarantee the same improvement as someone who doesn't have any physical problems ," he concludes.
