Pharmaceutical companies exposed for failing to deliver medicines

During the morning conference this Tuesday, Eduardo Clark, Undersecretary of Integration and Development of the Health Sector of the Government of Mexico, spoke about the supply of medicines at the national level, in which he detailed that The main reason for the shortage of some medicines is due to the non-compliance of the supplying pharmaceutical companies.

He updated that the supply status of medicines and supplies at IMSS, ISSSTE, and IMSS Bienestar, as of September 20, is close to 100%, with shortages primarily attributable to supplier noncompliance.

"Companies, some national, others foreign, that acquired commitments when we tendered and signed contracts to deliver medications and supplies to Mexican patients on a recurring basis , who to date have not fully fulfilled their commitment," declared Eduardo Clark.

He explained that the IMSS is at 97% supply, as is the ISSSTE, and that the remaining 3% is a failure to meet the requirements. On the other hand, IMSS Bienestar has a higher level of noncompliance. "We're much better off than a few months ago, at 92% supply, and 96% for oncology drugs, particularly at IMSS Bienestar, but we have to keep pushing for pharmaceutical companies to deliver the missing medications," he explained.

These are the main drug suppliers that have not delivered, in order of non-compliance:
