University of Düsseldorf offers Voluntary Scientific Year

Düsseldorf. With a Voluntary Scientific Year (FWJ), the Medical Faculty of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf aims to provide high school graduates with an insight into medical studies and other areas of the life sciences.
Participation has two advantages for prospective students: By participating in research groups, they can determine whether such a program is actually suitable for them. Furthermore, the voluntary year counts as a waiting semester, earning two points when applying for a place to study medicine.
According to the university, the FWJ is also recognized as a preparatory internship for certain degree programs, and participants receive a monthly salary of 483 euros.
During the FWJ, participants can learn about research work and actively participate in scientific projects. The program begins on October 1. (iss)
