Like Lauterbach and Helling-Plahr, emergency physician Janosch Dahmen (44) also ran in North Rhine-Westphalia - in 18th place on the Green Party's list of candidates. Since the Green Party did well in the most populous federal state, 18th place was enough for the ticket to Berlin. Dahmen has been in the Bundestag since November 2020, where he has recently campaigned primarily for the reform of emergency care. The traffic light coalition was unable to pass this after its failure in November 2024 - even if this plan was nowhere near as controversial as other health policy laws or proposals from the red-green-yellow coalition. Whoever governs in the future will therefore have a blueprint in the drawer when it comes to emergency care that they can fall back on. (bwa)
