The hottest week begins! Many provinces will exceed 40 degrees

Turkey is experiencing a new heat wave this week. The African heat will affect Turkey. According to the Turkish State Meteorological Service (GDPR), temperatures will rise 6 to 12 degrees Celsius above seasonal norms in many cities. Temperatures will reach 45 degrees Celsius even in the shade. The highest temperatures will be seen in the eastern provinces. Temperatures are expected to reach 42-46 degrees Celsius, particularly in Batman, Adıyaman, Şanlıurfa, and Diyarbakır. Thermometers in Aydın are expected to reach 45 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
Temperatures are also rising rapidly in major cities. Highs of 35 degrees Celsius are expected in Istanbul and Kırklareli, 37 in İzmir, 39 in Muğla, and 34 in Ankara. The temperature difference will be smallest in Trabzon, where temperatures will hover around 26 degrees Celsius.
BEWARE OF FOREST FIRES : Experts emphasize the importance of avoiding outdoor spaces during the hottest hours of the day. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has issued a warning about forest fires, urging citizens to avoid risky behaviors such as burning cigarette butts, glass bottles, and stubble.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE TODAY (MONDAY)?
According to forecasts by the Turkish State Meteorological Service, the northern and inland regions of Turkey are expected to be partly cloudy, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in the Taurus Mountains of the Central and Eastern Mediterranean, the Eastern Black Sea region, northern Eastern Anatolia, and the Ordu region. Other areas are expected to be partly cloudy and clear. Strong southerly winds (30-50 km/h) are expected in southeastern Eastern Anatolia.
It is estimated that air temperatures will continue to remain above seasonal norms across the country.
