Surprise meeting between Özgür Özel and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu

The Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance dismissed CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik and his team, alleging irregularities at the Istanbul Congress, and appointed former MP Gürsel Tekin as trustee. This step is expected to impact the ongoing case in Ankara seeking the cancellation of the CHP congress, the next hearing of which is scheduled for September 15th. Following the trustee discussions, nearly a thousand of the delegates, excluding the Istanbul members whose delegations were revoked by the 45th Civil Court of First Instance's decision, submitted an application to the General Headquarters requesting a new congress with notarized signatures. The main opposition party also held an extraordinary congress in April to address the possibility of a trustee, and Özgür Özel was elected chairman for a second term.
DETAILS OF THE KILIÇDAROĞLU MEETING
CHP leader Özgür Özel explained the details of his meeting with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu regarding the Absolute Nullity case to be heard on September 15th and the reason for the extraordinary congress call made against it.
“KEMAL MR. DID NOT GIVE AN APPOINTMENT TO THE ISTANBUL TRUSTEE” Speaking to Sözcü Ankara Representative Saygı Öztürk, the CHP leader noted the following regarding Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu:
Mr. Kemal hasn't made an appointment with the Istanbul trustee. I don't think he'll accept the trusteeship after this. The party public is very sensitive about these issues. Therefore, it needs to be discussed carefully. I don't want to target anyone, because it's a pointless outburst of anger. The party needs unity and integrity. I called Mr. Kemal recently and invited him to our party's foundation week event. We had a very cordial conversation. Hopefully, these arguments will die down in a few days. Old and new, we will all stand together to protect our party.
