Medicine alert: Stocks are running out

The problem of not being able to find medicine , which occurs every year before the drug exchange rate update, is on the agenda again.
This problem, which has not been solved for years, harms everyone.
While pharmacists are trying to distribute the medicines they have to patients in order not to make them suffer, those who cannot find their medicine are tired of going door to door.
Pharmacist Nurten Saydan, President of the All Pharmacists Employers Union, said, "We are unable to access medications, especially during the pre-update period due to the annual drug euro exchange rate. The most expensive drug is the one that is hard to find."
"THIS SITUATION IS UNSUSTAINABLE"Saydan made the following statements:
As pharmacists, we're trying to prevent patients from going without medication by distributing boxes of the limited number of medications we have. With the news of price hikes, pharmaceutical companies are halting or reducing their shipments. Pharmaceutical warehouses are also reducing the supply of medications, and even completely cutting off some medications. We, as pharmacists, are trying to provide relief to patients with as much medication as we can. We're trying to provide a wider range of access to medication by providing boxes for prescriptions containing more than one box. But our stocks are depleting. We don't know how much longer we can manage in this unsustainable situation.
"IT WILL CAUSE PATIENT CONCENTRATION"Saydan emphasized that this situation will lead to an overcrowding of patients in hospitals and healthcare facilities in the coming days, saying, "Patients with medical reports who cannot obtain a three-month supply of their missing medications will be applying to healthcare facilities in the coming days to get a new prescription and pay a new examination fee. This will lead to additional congestion in healthcare facilities, disrupting service, and placing an additional financial burden on both citizens and the state."
Saydan summarized his thoughts as follows:
The real source of the problem is that prices are updated only once a year, causing the pharmaceutical euro to drift significantly apart from the real euro. Medicine is a strategic product that must be found when needed. Therefore, any exchange rate update should not hinder the availability of medicines. The decision should be published in the Official Gazette and implemented immediately. The cost of a medicine shortage to public health, work, and public finances is incalculable. Therefore, the most expensive medicine is the one that is unavailable. Authorities must intervene immediately and restore the supply of medicines to normal.
