Groups that should not go out in the heat

With temperatures rising above seasonal norms these days, experts say that going outside, especially at noon, can pose serious health risks. However, some groups are at greater risk.

According to experts, hot weather particularly affects the following groups:

The Elderly

Their ability to sweat decreases.

The feeling of thirst weakens.

Chronic diseases such as heart, blood pressure and diabetes pose a risk.

Babies and Toddlers

They cannot balance their body temperature.

They lose fluid rapidly.

Sun and heat can quickly turn into a serious condition for children.

Those with Chronic Diseases

Heart, kidney, respiratory and diabetic patients are in the risk group.

The medications they use can make it harder for the body to cope with the heat.

Pregnant women

Body temperature is higher than normal.

If the increased fluid requirement is not met, fainting and low blood pressure may occur.

Obese Individuals

They have difficulty regulating their body temperature.

Extreme heat can increase metabolic stress.
