Doctors from the Be Healthy Clinic held a lecture for Bolshoi Theatre dancers on preventing ballet injuries.

The lecture took place on October 31st and focused on current issues of preventing and treating ballet injuries. Abdula Gadzhimuradov, chief specialist in traumatology and orthopedics at the Be Healthy clinic network, and Vitaly Skakun, surgical traumatologist, discussed why ballet is one of the most dangerous art forms, the stress dancers endure daily, and how to properly prepare the body for performance.
Injury prevention is an important part of an artist's health, as even minor injuries during intense physical activity can impact technique and career success. Key vulnerable areas include the feet and ankles, Achilles tendon, knee, and hip joints. Doctors at the Be Healthy clinic network explained how to reduce the risk of injury and support joints and ligaments during rehearsals, and discussed modern surgical treatments and injury rehabilitation methods.
"We thank the Bolshoi Theatre and our partners at Ingosstrakh Insurance Company for their trust. Health is the most important component of any professional artist's life. During lectures and master classes, our specialists discussed how to support ligaments and joints and thereby reduce the risk of injury—both during rehearsals and performances. We are confident that this initiative will mark the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership," said Larisa Tkachenko, COO of the Be Healthy clinic chain.
With the support of Ingosstrakh, a lecture and master class on taping was held on November 5th, featuring doctors from the Be Healthy clinic network. Medical specialists discussed the prevention and support of muscles and ligaments during ballet activities using kinesio tape and also conducted a master class on taping.
Ingosstrakh has been the general partner of the Bolshoi Theatre since 2019.
