PLN 10,554 with specialization and PLN 7,690 without a master's degree. New salaries are coming

As of July 1, the lowest salaries in healthcare will be increased, including the salaries of nurses and midwives. Minimum salaries will be increased by PLN 1,323.85, PLN 1,046.76 and PLN 964.67, depending on education.

- On July 1, 2025, the statutory indexation of the lowest wages in healthcare will take place
- The previous increase in the minimum wage in healthcare took place on July 1, 2024.
- Following the changes, the salaries of, among others, nurses and midwives will change, as they are classified into three pay groups in the act.
Minimum wages in healthcare are specified in the act on minimum wages for employees employed in healthcare entities. This document also guarantees annual indexation. The amount of the lowest salary is the product of the work coefficient specified in the salary table and the amount of the average monthly gross wage in the national economy in the previous year announced by the Central Statistical Office.
The previous increase took place on July 1, 2024, the next one will be on July 1, 2025.
Let us add that the minimum wages apply to, among others:
- doctors,
- nurses
- midwives,
- paramedics
- physiotherapists
- diagnosticians,
- support staff (attendants and orderlies),
- medical caregivers
- psychologists
- electroradiology technicians
- pharmacists
- employed in public health care facilities.
The changes will increase the salaries of nurses and midwives, among others, who have been classified into three pay groups in the act. The highest minimum wage for a nurse and midwife will be PLN 10,554.42, but the condition here is higher education and specialization.
In the second salary group - higher education, or bachelor's degree and specialization - the minimum salary will be PLN 8,345.35 gross.
In the third group, which includes nurses and midwives with a bachelor's degree without specialization and without higher education, the minimum salary will be PLN 7,690.82 gross from July 1.
This is how the salaries of nurses and midwives will change from July 1, 2025:
- Pharmacist, physiotherapist, laboratory diagnostician, clinical psychologist, other employee performing a medical profession other than indicated in no. 1, 3 and 4 with the required higher education at the master's level and specialization, nurse with a professional title of master of nursing or midwife with a master's degree in midwifery with the required specialization in the field of nursing or in a field applicable in health care (1.29) - today: PLN 9,230.57, after July 1, 2025: PLN 10,554.42 (an increase of PLN 1,323.85)
- Pharmacist, physiotherapist, laboratory diagnostician, nurse, midwife, electroradiology technician, psychologist, other employee performing a medical profession other than the one indicated in no. 1-4 with the required higher education at the master's level; nurse, midwife with the required higher education (first-cycle studies) and specialization, or nurse, midwife with secondary education and specialization
(1.02) - today: PLN 7,298.59, from July 1 PLN 8,345.35 (an increase of PLN 1,046.76)
- Physiotherapist, nurse, midwife, paramedic, electroradiology technician, other employee performing a medical profession other than indicated in no. 1–5 with required higher education at the level of first-cycle studies ; physiotherapist, paramedic, medical analysis technician, electroradiology technician with required secondary education or nurse or midwife with required secondary education who does not hold a specialist title in the field of nursing or a field applicable in health care (0.94) - today: PLN 6,726.15, from July 1: PLN 7,690.82 (an increase of PLN 964.67)
Let us add that the law specifies only the minimum wages, while in practice the wages of medical professionals may be - and often are - higher.
