Increasingly strong heat in Italy with health risks. The heat wave bulletin of the Ministry of Health indicates for today, Wednesday 10 June, the most critical day with alert level 2 - orange dot - in Bolzano, Campobasso and Perugia. But they will be at level 1 ( yellow dot ): Bologna, Brescia, Florence, Frosinone, Milan, Rieti, Rome, Turin and Verona.
Level 2 indicates "weather conditions that may pose a risk to health, particularly in the most susceptible population subgroups". Level 1 pre-alert signals "weather conditions that may precede the occurrence of a heat wave", a sign that "health-risk conditions are likely to occur in the following days".
To communicate the possible health effects of heat waves, the ministry prepares daily bulletins for 27 cities, with 24, 48 and 72-hour forecasts, according to the dedicated page on the ministry's website. The publication of the bulletins on the portal is active every year from May to September. For 2025, it is active from Monday 26 May and ends on 20 September. The bulletins are updated from Monday to Friday, at 11 am, and can also be consulted on the 'Caldo e Salute' App available for Android devices on Google Play.
