Gavirate - Art, Territory, and Community: Special Events at the Ibis Furnace Exhibition - Leisure - Varese News

The exhibition "75 Years of International Ceramics – Fornaci Ibis" at the Chiostro di Voltorre is more than just an exhibition: it's a project that intertwines art, community, and territory. The over one hundred works on display are the subject of a program of events that bring together the history of the Fornaci di Cunardo with the places and people that make the area between Gavirate, Orino, Cabiaglio, and Cunardo unique, all municipalities that have given their patronage to the project. A network of walking and cycling trails connects the villages and the landscape, between the lake and the mountains, creating a widespread and accessible cultural experience . This is precisely the rationale behind the events organized for the public, offering opportunities to experience art in diverse and participatory ways. The program kicks off on Friday, September 26th at 8:00 pm with an evening stroll along the lake leading to the Chiostro di Voltorre, where tour guides Simona Gamberoni and Simona Gasparini will accompany visitors on a charming nighttime tour of the exhibition.
On Tuesday, October 1st, at Materia Spazio Libero in Castronno, an evening will retrace the history of the Ibis Furnaces.
On Saturday 4 October, from 6pm to 8pm, Artecondivisibile is offering a workshop for children and teenagers aged 6 and up, an opportunity to experiment with clay and colours in a creative way. The following Saturday, October 11th, from 3 to 5 pm , it will be the turn of adults, with an experiential visit dedicated to the theme “Approaching the secrets of the wisdom of creative hands,” again with Artecondivisibile. On Tuesday, October 7th, at 3:00 PM, the public will be able to discover the heart of the story up close with a visit to the Cunardo Furnaces, where it all began. Meeting point will be provided, led by Simona Gamberoni and the artists from the organizing committee. The journey will conclude on Sunday, October 12th with the finissage at the Cloister: an afternoon of meetings and discussions with the curators and artists, to bid farewell to a project that aims to be the starting point for a new season of rebirth. An opportunity to experience art as a shared experience and feel part of a region that unites its best energies around a heritage to be protected and revived.
