The Council of State rejects Professor Didier Raoult's appeal against his temporary ban on practicing medicine

The Council of State refused, this Tuesday, October 14, to rule on the temporary ban on practicing medicine imposed on Professor Didier Raoult, BFMTV learned from the medical association, confirming information from the specialist press agency APM News .
The fourth chamber of the litigation section of the Council of State has decided not to admit the appeal in cassation of the Marseille microbiologist.
Didier Raoult was reprimanded by the National Disciplinary Chamber of the Order of Physicians in December 2021. He is accused of violating several articles of the Public Health Code, particularly by promoting a hydroxychloroquine -based treatment for Covid-19, without reliable scientific data.
After more than four years of controversy, the founding study by the IHU of Marseille on the use of this substance in the epidemic context , signed in particular by Didier Raoult, was officially invalidated in December 2024 .
The medical association appealed the reprimand, which it deemed too "lenient." In October 2024, the Marseille professor was banned from practicing medicine for two years, starting February 1, 2025.
He tried in vain to bring his case before France's highest administrative court. This appeal did not have a suspensive effect, and he has already served eight months of his sentence.
The professor used this period to invest in other projects, including co-founding a cosmetics start-up that sells products with "anti-aging" properties .
The Marseille prosecutor's office is also investigating suspicions of unauthorized clinical trials.
