Talant: A day to break the silence around Parkinson's disease

Talant: A day to break the silence around Parkinson's disease

On the occasion of World Parkinson's Day, the France Parkinson association came to the Edmond-Michelet Hall in Talant on Friday, May 23, for an information event. Around a hundred people attended to better understand this disease, which will affect 12 million people worldwide by 2024.

Five workshops and lectures were planned to educate and raise awareness about the disease. To kick off the afternoon, Dr. Matthieu Béreau, a neurologist at the Besançon University Hospital, led a lecture on the latest therapeutic developments in Parkinson's disease.

Participants were able to ask the neurologist questions. Some spoke about the challenges of this disease. "My son was recently diagnosed. He's only 34 years old," one woman said.
