Much more than a roof over its heads for its 80 residents, the Joseph-Magot nursing home aims to be a welcoming place to live. Despite limited resources, the nursing staff bends over backward to brighten up the daily lives of the elderly and break the image of retirement homes as places of death.
"It's not home, but we're comfortable here," Michel promises. "We have a good laugh." Having lived at the Joseph-Magot nursing home for the past year and a half, the octogenarian praises the dedication of the caregivers, who are "very attentive."
