This sometimes striking difference is explained by a completely normal and natural phenomenon: the type of penis. There are two main types: the blood penis and the flesh penis.

These two types are distinguished based on the difference between the size of the penis when flaccid and when erect. The blood penis, or "grower," is rather small when flaccid. But when erect, it can double or even triple in size.

Is one “better” than the other?

Neither is superior to the other. They're just different, and these differences have no impact on sexual performance or pleasure. They're simply natural variations of the human body. However, it's how each man perceives his own body that will make the difference in his well-being.

Many people suffer from insecurities about the size of their penis when flaccid, especially when compared to unrealistic standards portrayed in movies, pornography, etc. However, flaccid size means nothing. What matters is how you feel in your body and the quality of your relationship with your partner.

Note: Certain factors can influence the visible size of the penis. One example is the outside temperature, as cold weather can temporarily reduce it. Stress or other strong emotions can tighten the muscles of the penis and decrease blood flow. Finally, abdominal fat can bury the penis, making it appear smaller.
