Beaune. They were presented to the Minister of Health: their board games train caregivers

More than just a game, the Soigne tes révisions box was tailor-made for the training of future nursing assistants. Conceived and designed by Virginie Brelot-Lemaire, a senior health manager at the IFSI (nursing institute) in Beaune, and Angélique Gutierrez, a health manager in the same organization, it contains eight educational and pedagogical board games. Inspired by the rules of well-known games, such as Triomino, Dooble, Just One, and Time's Up, the two professionals have created a special health version.
“We have been trainers for several years. I started creating board games to offer students a different, more fun, and more intuitive medium. Initially, I did this at home, in the evenings or in my free time. Students could use them to learn medical vocabulary, for example,” recalls Virginie Brelot-Lemaire, who was joined in the adventure by her colleague Angélique Gutierrez in 2022.
Following the training sessions, satisfaction surveys showed that students appreciated these educational sessions. "The students were receptive, and we talked about it with other organizations, with the idea of making this box of games more widely known," the two professionals explained.
After an initial presentation article, published in the journal Soins Aides-soignantes , at the beginning of 2025, the feedback was swift. Other training institutes were interested in the prototype and requests to benefit from it began to arrive. This is when the idea of selling a box of games came up. Inside, eight games are offered. "They can be played in teams or solo."
"In terms of funding, the study, research, and action group for nursing assistant training (Geracfas), which is an association, supported our project. We then found the publishing house Virevolte, based in Lyon, for the game graphics and box production." The first meeting with the publisher took place on March 15, 2025.
Since then, things have accelerated. "We didn't really hit the ground running, but it was for a good cause," smile Virginie Brelot-Lemaire and Angélique Gutierrez. Also supported by the management of the Hospices Civils de Beaune, the designers were able to add the hospital's logo to the box's packaging. On Thursday, July 10, they were even able to present the project to Catherine Vautrin, Minister of Labor, Health, Solidarity, and Families (read more).
Currently on the market, the box sells for €110 each. All profits go to Geracfas "so that the association can fund new projects." While individuals can purchase it, the target audience is primarily training organizations, schools, and businesses.

Games presented to the Minister of Health
The opportunity was too good to miss. During the laying of the foundation stone of the new hospital building at the Hospices Civils de Beaune on Thursday, July 10, Virginie Brelot-Lemaire and Angélique Gutierrez, trainers at the IFSI (Institut de l'Insitivité for French National Institute of Social Sciences) in Beaune, presented the game box, "Soigne tes révisions" (Soice Your Revisions), to Catherine Vautrin, Minister of Labor, Health, Solidarity, and Families. It was a moving presentation for the two health executives, who barely had time to finalize the box before the ministerial visit.
"The minister received the project very well. Now, we would like to receive the ministry's high patronage so that we can place it on the game boxes. This will give even more weight and visibility to our project," smile the professionals, who also received support from the Hospices Civils de Beaune for their creation.
