The reason why dengue is so dangerous

He emphasizes that dengue is dangerous because There is no specific medication to treat it , so you should always be alert for symptoms that appear approximately 4 to 10 days after being bitten by mosquitoes that may be carrying the virus. The SSa explains that the people most vulnerable to suffering from severe dengue are:

• Those who have already become ill in the past
• Babies and pregnant women

The symptoms of dengue are:

• Fever
• Severe headache
• Nausea and/or vomiting
• General malaise
• Muscle or joint pain
• Pain behind the eyes
• Rash

Severe dengue includes abdominal pain, extreme fatigue, and bleeding from the nose and gums.

According to the Medical Journal of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, in volume 9: No. 3 , published in July 2019, severe dengue is a complication "potentially fatal" because it "occurs with plasma leakage, fluid accumulation, respiratory distress, severe bleeding, or organ failure" in patients. He points out that the following "24 to 48 hours of the critical stage can be lethal."

The most effective measure to prevent the spread of dengue is to prevent mosquito breeding sites in close proximity to people, as well as to kill the insect or its larvae when seen. If there are containers of water in the home, it is best to cover them; rainwater should also be prevented from stagnating.

Specialists advise avoiding self-medication, especially with drugs such as aspirin or ibuprofen, as their use could worsen the condition by increasing the risk of bleeding.
