Profeco issues alert for THIS toy that is dangerous for babies

This Friday, the Federal Consumer Protection Agency ( Profeco ) issued an alert to warn parents and guardians about the potential risks of a toy for babies and young children.

In a statement, the Mexican authorities indicated that the magnets included in this product could become detached and be ingested by children, causing severe damage to their health.

"The recall is due to the fact that the magnets included in the toy for babies, girls, and boys, which are used to stack the blocks, could detach, be ingested, and lodge in the digestive system, causing serious or fatal injuries." , Profeco stated.

The authority specified that official surveillance began on July 31 and has no expiration date.

Although no incidents had been reported in Mexico as of July 21, Profeco recommended that parents and guardians immediately suspend use of the product and proceed with a replacement.

For his part, he indicated that Tegu has enabled customer service channels for those who have purchased these models, through its website, email, and phone number.

"The replacement toy will be delivered to the applicants' homes free of charge," Profeco explained in its statement.

In addition, the Mexican authorities warned that they will monitor compliance with the substitution process and reminded citizens that they can contact the Attorney General's Office through its official channels.
