Marissa (28) defeats breast cancer – shortly afterwards she dies from an insect bite

Marissa Laimou, 28, died of an insect bite after being turned away from a hospital. Her family is demanding clarification.
In London, a 28-year-old Greek woman was found dead in her apartment on September 11 after a hospital had failed to conduct a thorough examination.
Marissa Laimou developed symptoms such as dizziness, itching, and fever after an insect bite, as the Daily Mail reports. A doctor who visited Marissa at home initially prescribed paracetamol, but her condition continued to worsen.
Laimou, who had recently beaten breast cancer , then consulted her oncologist. The oncologist even sent her to a hospital by ambulance, but she was discharged with only antibiotics and a diagnosis of an insect bite. Nurses, rather than doctors, reportedly examined her and concluded that hospitalization was unnecessary, according to The Sun.
One day later, she was found dead in her bed. An autopsy is pending, and the exact cause of death is still unclear.
Marissa Laimou came from a well-known Greek shipping family that has been active in the international shipping business for generations, writes the Daily Mail.
Friends and family describe her as talented and involved in the arts community. Marissa recently directed a production of Romeo and Juliet in London.
Laimou's mother stated in a Greek media outlet that toxic shock from the insect bite could have caused death.
According to the Daily Mail, she lamented that her daughter, who had survived cancer, had died from an insect attack. The family is awaiting answers from the pending autopsy. The hospital has since admitted its mistakes and launched an internal investigation.
