Minister of State Meister visited Udes a few weeks ago as a representative for the Bergstraße district Pharmacy in Darmstadt. This was followed by another discussion in Berlin on the topic of "Pharmacies and Drug Supply." Due to his responsibilities for federal-state coordination, Meister is a very important contact for pharmacists, especially, emphasizes the Hesse Chamber of Pharmacists.
According to the Chamber's report, various issues relating to pharmaceutical supply were discussed at the Chancellery. Pharmacists hope for a good collaboration with the new Federal Minister of Health, Nina Warken ( CDU ). Your commitment to German Pharmacists’ Day (DAT) and initial discussions are considered a good start.
Hesse Chamber President Ude was also pleased with the minister's positive announcements. These must now be quickly implemented into necessary laws and regulations. The chapter on pharmacies in the coalition agreement between the CDU/CSU and SPD provides, among other things, for a fee increase as well as a dynamic adjustment and the lifting of the ban on discounts.
The regulatory framework for pharmacies was also discussed at the meeting in the Chancellery. Meister sees it as a safeguard for a safe and comprehensive supply of medicines, with seamless emergency service as a unique selling point of local pharmacies. Ude, however, sees a need for modern development.
In the future, the new Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and State Modernization will also serve as a contact point for pharmacies to reduce bureaucracy and simplify requirements. To advance this process, Meister outlined the relevant responsibilities and procedures.
In conclusion, Ude pointed out the potential role of local pharmacies in the context of disasters and in national defense. The pharmacy network is indispensable even in such scenarios. Both sides agreed that appropriate precautions and plans for pharmacies must be made now, in peacetime. The discussions will continue.
